Information on dealing with the Corona pandemic at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum
Since the beginning of May 2020, the Ruhr-Universität Bochum has been in so-called “reduced operation mode” due to the Corona pandemic. In view of changing regulation in Northrhine-Westphalia in the meantime, the “operation mode under COVID-19 conditions” is now to be successively introduced as a new form of operation . This mode of operation will start on August 1, 2020.

The Ruhr-Universität Bochum Control Room (“RUB Leitwarte”)
All emergency calls on campus should be made to the Ruhr-Universität Bochum Control Room! Depending on which type of emergency has occurred, the Control Room staff will call the according emergency service.

How to deal with medical emergencies
Please call the RUB Control Room: 23333 (from an internal RUB phone) or 0234/32-23333 (from a mobile phone). Please also use this number when there is need for access to a Shock Advisory Defibrillator.
The RUB security staff is located at the „Infopunkt Uni-Mitte“ (information desk Uni-Mitte). This information desk is available 24/7. The “Infopunkt Uni-Mitte” is located underneath the UV building close to the RUB bus stop and the RUB visitors’ parking area.

This phone number can also be used to arrange escorts for personal protection, e.g. at nighttime to get to a RUB carpark and/or train (U35).
